Claude Hoeschen was born August 15, 1926 in Freeport to Peter and Walburga (Rueter) Hoeschen. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1953 to 1955. Cloudy worked for Strack Construction and Conlin Construction in St. Cloud. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport and St. Joseph’s Men’s Society. Cloudy enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, gardening, working with honey bees, and making fish decoys.
Cloudy” was a legendary trapper, hunter and fisherman, and knew the best “trap sets” up and down Getchell Creek, for many miles from the farm. The farm was home base for many endeavors including raising mink, repairing equipment, and dealing in iron.
