Alton “Chub” Buchman is from the Mount Clemens, MI area and is best described as a most respected carver of fish and waterfowl in the Lake St. Clair Flats region of Michigan.

He was born of German ancestry in 1916 and he moved to the shores of Lake St. Clair he was a young boy. Buchman is truly one of the fish decoy carving legends of his peers and collectors alike.
