Blakely, Shane – Alaska (Kenal River area)

Shane Blakely is a famous Alaskan spear fisherman.  He worked hard at the eradication of pike in winter months. Shane Blakely commercial fished in the ’80s and ’90s when pike posed a threat to the Kenai River.  He was asked to do a video for the Alaska Department of Fish and Game after he and his wife turned in over 100lbs of northern pike during a local ice fishing derby.

The red & white and blue decoy which Shane named the Patriot Missile was used to speared hundreds of pike on this awkward looking decoy.
