(1911-1999)
Carl Satre was born on February 11, 1991 in Brainerd, Minnesota. He married in 1934. Satree worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad and Burlington National Railroad.
Satre’s fish all had wooden tails, copper fins and a series of three circular line tines. His decoys were simply painted with a two-color paint scheme. One color for the head and the other for the body. His fish are decorated on the sides with a series of painted circles usually the same color as the head and sometimes he painted a white dot in the center of each. The eyes are generally painted white, unless the head color of the fish was already white. The fish range in size from 3 1/2″ to 5″ long.
