Skeeter Kendall was born in St. Peter, Minnesota on February 1, 1940. Skeeter died in 2005 and he was from Remer, Minnesota. He carved and his wife Tootie would paint.
Skeeter Kendall worked as a stonemason at Babcock Stone in Remer for about seven years and in 1971 he and his family moved to the Remer area where he farmed and logged.  He later became a bartender at the Remer Liquor Store. It has been reported that Skeeter loved flower gardening, woodcarving, crocheting rag rugs and growing butternut and walnut trees.
Tootie (Raines) Kendall which helped Skeeter paint his decoys was born in 1943 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Tootie lost her battle with cancer on in 2006.
Skeeter evidently wanted to recognize that the decoy making was a family affair and he or Tootie signed their decoys with “The Kendall’s”.
