Hyatt, Burt is from Waubun, Minnesota. He was born in 1917. He moved to Minnesota from Iowa in 1939 and began carving in the early 40’s for his own use and started selling them around 1980. He stopped carving about 2005. He hand scales his decoys and provides base coats with aerosol cans and detail work is done by hand. He used high quality glass eyes.
A large sunfish measuring 11″ in length- has glass eyes, wood tail. It is signed and numbered ‘7″ by the carver.
