Born 1942 – Mel Aaserude is a contemporary carver born in Grand Forks, North Dakota and now lives in Cass Lake Minnesota.
Signs decoys with ‘MVA’.

He is listed in Kimball’s “Fish Decoys” book Volume 1, 2, & 3.

Some of his items are in the Smithsonian Institute National Museum of American History.
