Rodney “Rod” Bethel a life long Park Rapids, Minnesota resident was born in 1938 and passed away on Veterans Day November 11 2010. As one of his friends told me “Another great era carver is now gone”.

Rod was a meat cutter/manager and an owner of a locker plant known as Morville’s/Rod’s Meats.
Following in his own father’s footsteps, Rod fell in love with the family art of carving fish decoys. This hobby spread into all aspects of wildlife and caricatures.
