Mary Lou hails from Fond Du Lac, WI and now is from Taycheedah, WI.

Abstract from http://www.midwestfolklifefestival.org/Schneider.html
Mary Lou has earned a well deserved reputation as a decoy carver. Her first decoy was a modified bowling pin and her most recent carving is of two sturgeon that will adorn a wedding cake, made at the request of the spearing couple. But most of her decoys begin as a block of wood and end up resembling a fish ranging in size from small to as large as a sturgeon itself.  She explains that sturgeon are curious and will come investigate, no matter what the decoy is.
