Jayson Hansen is from Bigfork, Minnesota and was born in 1975.
Jayson got started carving decoys after his uncle took him spearing. He told Jayson about my his great uncle’s friend, Fred Lexow. Jayson said “My uncle had several of Lexow’s decoys, and we used them while spearing. Eventually I came to possess them, and have since retired them.” Jayson began carving in the early 90’s and has not carved a decoy since about 2000. John Unger was Jayson’s great uncle and he has a couple of his decoys as well. Jayson said “I had sold some of my decoys and about 25 were made in a 10 year span.”
